Had a lovely stay here. The hotel is very clean and tidy. The staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant food is amazing, freshly prepared and cooked meaning adjustments for allergy etc is easy. The spa is lovely, very clean, compact but the facilities are great with lots of natural light. It is a little dated on the decor but I think that just adds to the charm. It is starting to show it's age a little in places and needs a little tlc but it's clear that maintenance is completed and the general upkeep of the rooms and building is good. Would love to come back again. Worth our 4 hour drive to get here.

Arrived for girls spa day and afternoon tea. I found that the steam room seat was gritty and mosaic tiles missing from the seat. We were not told about the change of location for our afternoon tea and when we enquired, why we hadn't been told, the receptionist told us that she thought we knew ??We had been made aware before arriving that our treatments were cancelled but found out that a new person was starting there the following day... So disappointed. The afternoon tea was nice but be aware if your vegetarian, they still provide tuna sandwiches, ring beforehand to inform them that this isn't suitable.Upon leaving I went to shower. I noted a sign that said that the showers were hot. I love a hot shower but this was beyond hot and was scalding. I quickly left to find another shower... Surely this should be sorted?? The changing room was so hot, It was unbearable. Won't be rushing back I'm afraid. Needs updating badly!!!!
